It’s been a year of award nominations and wins
Brilliant Ideas has been shortlisted for twelve industry awards this year – our best ever, and naturally, we’re all thrilled to bits.
The Building Innovation Industry Awards has just announced their nomination shortlist and we’re in the running for five, across three categories. As a team, we’re especially pleased that Chris has been shortlisted for Innovation Champion – Chris has invented each and every product we develop. His motivation has always been about improving construction site safety – and that has never changed.

Best Health and Safety Innovation
Safety Net Recovery System, it takes just 4-minutes to recover someone who has fallen from height into a safety net, when they aren’t in a position to get themselves out.
Small Hole Cover, a quick and simple-to-install method of covering temporary holes, making them safe during construction.
Most Innovative New Product
ALIMATS®, a handleable interlocking outrigger mat system made from recycled certified Aluminium, making them strong, safe and sustainable.
SLAPP Clamp, a lightweight pallet-lifting devise which safely clamps the load to stabilise it.

These national awards are some of the most celebrated in construction and we’re up against some other very good nominations. The winners will be crowned in November.
We’ve also reached the shortlist in the British Construction Industry Awards and Construction News Specialists Awards, which are being hosted next month. Earlier in the year, we won best product innovation with our safety net system in the BSiF Safety and Health Excellence Awards – with our SLAPP Clamp being commended.
